Types Of Tropical Fish Food It is said variety adds spice to life and if you want to get most out of your fish feed them with different variety of food. Selecting the right food for your fish is the most important part. One always goes feeding their fish with flake food; one can even try feeding their fish with different types of tropical fish food. Feeding twice a day to your fish is better than a single feed a day. It is said that put in as much food that the fish will consume in a two minutes time. Over feeding should not be done rather it should be avoided fully.

Different types of tropical fish food are:

Flake food: fishes generally like flakes and they are easy to use to as they usually float on the surface while the fish eat. It is considered as the main food source as it contains vitamins, minerals and other nutrients. A fish can easily digest them. It is always recommended to buy small containers instead of buying a jumbo container as it gets spoiled after a certain period

Blood Worms: one can supplement his/her fish with blood worms if your fish is carnivorous as blood worms are high in protein but it should be remembered that it should be given occasionally.

Brine Shrimp: If you want your fish to breed this food can be the best fitted for the purpose, and it can be used as the supplement of the daily diet of flake fish food.

Krill: It is given to enhance colour of your tropical fish, but it is advisable not to feed the fish daily with it, it should be served only occasionally.

Spirulina: If your fish is herbivorous, it proves to be a good supplement as it is a type of blue green algae. Fishes like Plecos, Silver Dollar and mollies is normally benefitted with the spirulina diet at it is vitamin enriched.

Algae wafers: This is specially developed for plecostomus algae eaters and fishes like Cory cats and silver Dollars also love these sinking wafers. This can be a good supplement for other herbivorous fish too.

Frozen Fish Food: These foods are normally rich in proteins and fats. Using frozen fish food can be quiet a mess. Feeding a fish high quality frozen food helps in enhancing the colour and helps to start breeding.

Live Fish Food: The food is still alive while it is introduce to the fish. It is advisable that one has to be extremely careful while using live foods as they may carry diseases with them.

Freeze Dried Fish food: It is one of the most expensive type of tropical fish food as they tend to float on the surface for a longer period, they are not messy, and prove to be a good supplement for fish diet.
